Country Cares for St. Jude Kids is one of the most successful radio fundraising events in America. Through the program, radio listeners are given the opportunity to call in and make a donation to the hospital. More than 100 country artists have given their names and time to Country Cares through recorded appeals, visits to St. Jude or call-ins to radiothons. Since the program’s inception in 1989, hundreds of radio stations across the country have helped raise more than $365 million in pledges to help St. Jude continue its mission of finding cures and saving children, and the St. Jude family of partner stations continues to expand. Forty of country music's hottest stars joined Country Music Hall-of-Famer Randy Owen to bring bright smiles and warm words to the patients of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital on January 15.
